American rapper Afroman reprised his hit song “Because I Got High” and took inspiration from Hunter Biden for new lyrics.

The single released in 2000 focused on the life of someone who couldn’t get anything done because they were a stoner. President Biden’s son Hunter has long had a very public drug abuse problem.

Baste Records first posted about the song on its X page on April 26. A video debuted on YouTube the same day.

“Hey Hunter. Roll another one of those congressional blunts, brotha,” Afroman says at the beginning of the video. The rapper, and an actor who is supposed to represent Hunter Biden, are seen sitting in a black SUV smoking.

The song’s lyrics make very direct connections to Hunter Biden and his legal issues.

“He was gonna get his laptop fixed, but Hunter got high,” one line says, referring to the controversy surrounding the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop that was leaked in 2020.

Other lines refer to his foreign business dealings, which have been investigated and have caused a probe into the president’s connections to the businesses.

“He got more LLCs than John Gotti’s ex-wife,” one line says.

“Ukraine wasn’t part of the plan, till Hunter got high. China wasn’t that big a fan, till Hunter got high. He wasn’t gonna split it all, with the old big guy. But Hunter got high, Hunter got high, Hunter got high,” another says.

The song even makes a reference to when cocaine was found in the White House last summer.

“The White House got shut down, and we all know why. Hunter got high, Hunter got high, Hunter got high,” Afroman sings.

Nashville-based Baste Records was founded by Matthew Azrielli. Its website says it’s “a harbinger of the counter culture to cancel culture.”
