Former President Donald Trump belittled his onetime Attorney General William P. Barr after landing his support.

“Wow! Former A.G. Bill Barr, who let a lot of people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him ‘Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless and Lazy’ (New York Post!),” Mr. Trump posted on Truth Social Wednesday. “Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word ‘Lethargic’ from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!”

Mr. Barr served as attorney general in the Trump administration from 2019 to 2020. The relationship between the former president and his top law enforcement officer soured after Mr. Barr denied Mr. Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was rigged.

Since then, Mr. Barr has become a vocal critic of his former boss, until last week when he said he would vote for the Republican ticket, likely led by Mr. Trump.

“I’ve said all along, given two bad choices, I think it’s my duty to pick the person I think would do the least harm to the country,” Mr. Barr said on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom.” “And in my mind, I will vote the Republican ticket. I will support the Republican ticket.”

He added, “Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but a continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide, in my opinion.”
